Brain Activity and Music as Seen with Neurosteer’s hdrEEG™ System
New York, Jun. 20, 2023 -- In “This Is What Music Does to Your Brain,” Yael Hallak of Haaretz writes that new research is exploring how to use music to bring people closer and even to diagnose cognitive decline in the elderly.
The article covers the work of Neurosteer’s Neta Maimon with music and brain activity. Maimon, a PhD and avid musician, has for years been championing the use of auditory stimulation for precise brain activation during the measurement of brain activity using Neurosteer’s hdrEEG™ system.
She was recently invited to New York to deliver a series of talks on her research.
“I’m truly honored to see my music cognition research, conducted at Neurosteer and the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University, featured in Haaretz. A big thank you to Yael Hallak for perfectly connecting the dots between music, neuroscience, and cognition in her article,” said Maimon.
She continued: “Our research explores the profound influence music has on brain activity and cognitive functions – from managing stress and assessing cognitive load in musicians and medical surgeons to diagnosing cognitive decline and neurodegenerative disorders.”
Maimon has been instrumental in helping to develop Neurosteer’s auditory assessment tests.
